Mentors for CNY Drones often get asked how did you learn all this information on drones?!? Which they usually respond with “YouTube University, of course!” Or maybe a couple of other sites on the internet.
However, we realize that there are thousands of channels on YouTube and it can be overwhelming to know where to look for information on drones on the internet. That’s why we are creating this post to highlight some of our favorite resources.

First, we will start with the help channels. These are usually technically focused with videos on a particular issue or experimenting and testing a feature of some drone tech. They may also have really good tutorials as well. (These are in no particular order)
- The AMA – https://www.youtube.com/user/modelaircraft
- Painless360 – https://www.youtube.com/user/Painless360 There are very good tutorials on this channel. The tend to do a whole series on a particular topic.
- Joshua Bardwell – https://www.youtube.com/user/loraan and https://www.fpvknowitall.com/ he does very detailed and technical reviews of popular drone parts and topics. He is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to Betaflight and has a free eBook “Three Betaflight Mistakes Everybody Makes and How To Fix Them” that is worth a read.
- Project Blue Falcon – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCObMtTKitupRxbYHLlwHE3w Sadly the owner of this account was in a motorcycle accident and passed away, so there is no new content being released. The content that is there is extremely helpful. Tutorials and reviews.
- Oscar Laing – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3OvT0ZSWxoVDjZkVNmnlw and https://oscarliang.com/ This is an amazing source of information. The website has tutorials broken down into beginner, intermediate, and expert levels so that no matter what your skill level, there is something for you.
- Drib 2 –https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClI6O8Pj28SESFaDdSqzFBg/ This is a technically-focused version of Le Drib’s main channel. This is a good resource for Spectrum radio information.
- Mr Steele – https://www.youtube.com/user/MrSteeledavis/ His channel used to be more FPV cultural, but he has recently started posting a series on “How to FPV” that has some great information. Also check out the FPV Bible here: https://ethixltd.com/fpv/
